Here I am, moaning and groaning about the Vancouver Sun Run which I (in a moment of ebullient and sadly misdirected corporate team-spirit-edness) signed up for weeks ago. Sun Run? I mean, what the heck was I thinking?? I couldn’t run 5 blocks if I was chased by a rabid dog, and this, well this… this… torture trail is 10km long! I’m in way over my head.

cancer.jpgSo imagine my bouche bee when my colleague Rob Brown told me he was participating in the four hundred (yes folks, that’s 4-0-0) km bike ride from Kelowna to Vancouver to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society. In one day. Through two mountain passes. Now that’s dedication.

Until very recently I was the only person I had heard of who had not had a friend or family member affected by cancer. Unfortunately, such people are becoming more and more rare. My heart goes out to everyone who has had to deal with it, or, sadly, is dealing with it today.

You can learn more about Rob’s bike ride here and if you’d like to donate or see how they’re doing on their fundraising efforts, you can do so via this link.
