Karolina and I went to the Van Dusen Botanical Gardens tonight (not far from our house) to see the light display… We were NOT expecting that many lights… but boy oh boy oh boy, we LOVED IT!
Here is a very special video of Twinkle Toes Karolina… You saw it here first, folks.
Although Vancouver is now technically home, I still crave good ol’ Alberta, especially at the holidays.
Rob and I went to El Rancho for a few days to spend some time with the fam and the menagerie.

I almost fell off the couch when I saw this. Enjoy.

As Christmas approaches, a virgin mother is anxiously awaiting the arrival of her offspring. She’s Flora, the Komodo dragon.
In an evolutionary twist, Flora has managed to become pregnant all on her own without any male help. It would seem the timing is auspicious: The seven hatchlings are due this festive season.

If I wasn’t in such a loving relationship (:-P) I’d have plenty to say about this. Gals (bitter ones??) have been crowing for years about how one day men would become obsolete and the world a better place for it.
Me? I like things just the way they are!

Rob and I are headed to Calgary for the holidays this Friday, so we had a lovely little Fink get-together this Sunday – mostly so we could watch his nephew Gabriel open his presents (he’s 1.5 years… or however many months that is… I guess you have to be a real mother to think in terms of months ’cause I never was able to).
He’s into cars lately (and what boy isn’t?!) so he loved those, but we loved the monkey hat the best.
